If you like to eat fish, you won’t find a better place to eat it.
Grilled over coals and served on a silver platter, dressed with olive oil and parsley with chunks of lemon, the grigliata mista di pesce is as simple a dish as you can get, but it looks very impressive when it is served. Accompany it with an insalata mista and a chilled bottle of Lugana and you are in fish lover’s paradise.
If you’re not a fish lover, there are also grilled meats and pasta ‘fatta in casa’, (homemade pasta).
The setting is equally impressive, especially if you book early and request a table in giardino, which is adjacent to the beach in Portese. The waves lapping on the pebbles and the effects of the fading light on the mountains across the lake as dusk falls, creates a romantic atmosphere that you will want to experience again and again.

Over the past ten years we have taken many holidays in Lake Garda. This is one of our favourite restaurants and we always have at least one lovely evening here(sometimes more), whenever we visit. The food is fantastic, the staff are friendly, and the location is idylic. It is a very romantic spot, but it’s also very child friendly, the older ones can play on the beach, within eyesight and earshot, and between courses you can take the young ones down on the beach to feed the ducks and the swans. It’s also an excellent place to take lunch. An overall a fantastic experience, my mouth is watering just looking at this webpage. If your anywhere near the west of Garda you have to go here.
Highly recommended. Secluded and charming waterfront location and the menu doesn’t disappoint – we had excellent chicken soup (consommé) followed by mushroom pasta and a delicious pork chop from the grill, all finished with vodka sorbet. We are definitely heading back for the Mixed Fish platter.
