The commune of Padenghe has started a trend, which we hope will spread throughout the region, by setting up internet access points at strategic points around the town. The connection points were installed in March and so are already up and running. The Free Wifi Brescia Gov is an initiative aimed at spreading the availability of free internet connection thus promoting the digital culture and right to internet access.
To gain access to the network you need to complete a simple certifcation procedure via a telephone, tablet or laptop. Padenghe has set up four access points two in Via Barbieri which allow you to connect in the historical center, one at the sports center and one in the library gardens.
Due to the popularity expressed by residents and tourists the Municipality are looking to activate another six points by the end of the year. This they hope will give access right down to the lake and on the beaches.
Who do we write to if we want to start a petition in Salo’? 😉
You can already get free Wifi in Gardone. One by the shops and cafes on the lake front and one at Vittoriale.
Thanks for that info Janet, is it free? do you log on and fill out a form as described in the post?
