Of course there is the lake and the abundance of activities that the lake has to offer; there is the stunning scenery, the amazing views and the diverse nature that are a product of the unique geology and climate of the lake. There are the historic lakeside towns the, the walking, mountain biking, the food, the wine, the churches, the castles, the museums and the endless list of Lake Garda events. The list of things to do and see in Lake Garda seems to grow longer rather than shorter the more time you spend there.
One thing that I highly recommend on a Lake Garda holiday is a ride on horseback through the lush countryside that adjoins the lake. A relaxed stroll under a clear azzurro sky on the back of an adorable and impeccably behaved horse; across fields, through vinyards and olive groves, shady woods and sleepy villages……..immersed in peace and tranquillity away from the busy tourist spots.
It’s not just me that that recommends a ride on horse back, it has also been recommended by the Tourist Cooperative of Valtenesi as one of the top ten things to do on a Lake Garda holiday. Click here for the full list
If you want to include a horseback ride as one of the activities on your Lake Garda holiday then Morso46 (previously El Corral) is the perfect place for you. morso46 is an Agriturismo which is located in sleepy countryside about 15 mins from Salo. As well as the stables and full equestrian center there is also a very good Osteria which serves traditional local food. With their superbly trained horses and experienced guides morso46 can cater for even the most inexperienced rider. The equestrian centre includes a sandy indoor training area where it is possible for the inexperienced to spend half an hour being introduced to the friendly horses and overcoming any fears, before departing on horseback for a truly memorable experience.
morso46 offer one hour, two hour, half day and full day rides around the beautiful Morenic hills of the Valtenesi, a remarkable landscape with sensational lake views**. With a number of small and miniature ponies morso44 can also provide a fantastic experience for children.
Here’s what one of our guest had to say about morso46……
During our stay in Lake Garda we booked a horse riding trek with morso46. The horses were so well looked after and the trek included beautiful views of the lake. The guide was very accommodating and asked what we wanted from the trek. Even though myself and my husband were at totally different levels of experience we enjoyed a totally thrilling and safe hack… Would definitely go again!

Hi Peter,
If you are staying in the Salo’ region of the lake it may be possible to arrange a ride. How long are you in the area for….which package of those listed on our Horse Riding In Lake Garda page would you like? As stated the stables are a separate company from Love Lake Garda and you can contact them directly, if you would like my help then I charge a €5pp booking fee. Let me know. Ciao Roy
