This pretty apartment consists one bedroom with an en-suite shower room, an open plan living area which opens directly onto the gardens via two sets of French doors. The kitchen, from where you have lake views, is well equipped and includes: a gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher and washing machine.

Unlimited Wifi is available and other useful facilities include, TV and DVD player with plenty of DVD’s. (Although the TV only receives Italian channels you could bring your iPad or iPhone and the correct lead to view YouTube or UK channels on the TV via the internet)

The apartment does not have air conditioning but it is not required, as the stone walls are very thick and provide excellent insulation. The temperature inside remains relatively constant temperature, cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

Although the garden area directly outside the apartment is a communal garden it is rarely used by other residents as they prefer to use the garden area around the pool, this gives you a beautiful outside space with fantastic views for outside dining, bbq’s and sunbathing. The pool, which is set in beautifully kept gardens, enjoys stunning views across the whole of the south of Lake Garda, taking in the Gulf of Salo, Isola del Garda, the Rock of Manerba and Sirmione.

The 16th ‘Il Palazzo’ was originally built as a home for a nobleman and has been utilised as a convent, a town hall and an important restaurant before becoming a peaceful retreat for Italians and holiday makers. Only three of the 20 apartments are rented out as holiday lets and the Italian owners only come for occasional weekends or during August, this means that it sometimes feels like you have the whole place to yourselves. The building and the grounds are stunningly beautiful and give off an aura which makes you feel strangely peaceful and relaxed.

This apartment is perfect for couples, small families(*see note), or friends. If you enjoy a peaceful holiday, walking, cycling, mountain biking or landscape photography this is the perfect property to enjoy Lake Garda. You can walk or ride straight out of the gate and be immediately immersed in nature, on walking, cycling or mountain biking routes.

Salo is only a 15 minute drive away so you can enjoy the best of both worlds, spending busy days or nights on the lake frot and then retreating back to peace and tranquillity.

There is a bar/trattoria just a few minutes walk down the hill(longer coming back up), where you can sample excellent, very local cuisine. They do not speak English and there is no menu but the owners of the apartment live close by and they would be very happy to reserve a table and arrange a menu for you. The owners have a fantastic knowledge of Lake Garda and would also be very happy to advise, organise, book anything that you need help with.

*Please note that there is a low wall with a high drop in the garden area outside the apartment so toddlers and young children would need to be closely monitored.

The apartment is located in the hills behind the beautiful town of Salo, which we think is the jewel in the crown of Lake Garda towns. Salo boasts the longest lungolago, which is brimming with cafe bars from where you can enjoy an aperitivo and watch the world go by.

Salo also has a beautiful beach with jetties that protrude out into the crystal clear lake, perfect for soaking up the sun and then jumping into the lake to cool off. There are a number of bars and restaurants for you to take lunch or refreshments. Portese beach is also just a short drive away. Salo has a ferry terminal so you can easily explore other parts of the lake.

Other nearby towns include Toscolano Maderno, Gardone, Manerba, Moniga, Peugnago del Garda, Portese, San Felice…..all of which have fantastic restaurants, attractions and a full program of events throughout the mid to high season.

The Valtenesi wine region, which is famous for producing Groppello wine, is just a 10 minute drive away. Most of the fantastic Cantinas have shops where you can walk in and taste and purchase excellent wine. There are also a number of wine tasting events throughout the year perfect for wine lovers to educate themselves on Italian wine

There are so many more Lake Garda attractions and activities that you can enjoy in the nearby area including wine tasting, walking, horseriding, mountain biking, hang gliding, parascending, boat rental, museums, castles and gardens.

Not too far away you can also find: climbing, canyoning, windsurfing, kitesurfing and lots more.
