The Valtenesi region which is located in the province of Brescia, stretches across the area between the west shore of Lake Garda and the Moraine hills. From Desenzano to Salo and Manerba to Puenago, the Valtenesi has a landscape that is paradise for mountain bikers. It offers tracks that are not too demanding but very fulfilling because of the scenery and view.  You can immerse yourself in nature and enjoy plants and flora typical of the region by following a track that runs the full length of the Valtenesi. From Desanzano to Salo this track, with its gentle climbs up and down, is suitable for all levels of rider and for both children and adults.

For those more experienced riders who are looking for something a bit more challenging there is the 23 mile cultural tour of the Valtenesi. This track starts and finishes at the castle in Padenghe and encompasses: the Chiesa della Madonna della Neve (the church of the Lady of the Snow) in Moniga, the fortress at La Rocca di Manerba (Rock of Manerba), the sanctuario della Madonna del Carmine (sanctuary of the Lady of Carmine)  in San Felice, the laghetti di Sovenigo (the pools of Sovenigo) in Puegnago, the Chiesa di S.Pietro (Church of San Pietro) in Lucone a Polpenazze.

There is a very good website that as been created by mountain bike enthusiasts who are also proud of their region of Valtenesi and want to help share it with mountain bike lovers who visit Lake Garda.
