So yesterday was Cantine Aperte as I described in previous my post. This year we visited 5 Cantina’s in the beautiful countryside south of the lake, where the province of Brescia crosses over into Mantova. Azienda Agricola Ricchi with it’s classy and very traditional cellar; Fattoria Colombara with it’s beautiful farmhouse and it’s homely, fun and welcoming atmosphere; Corbue and Citari set in the stunning countryside in the shadow of the Battaglia Di San MartinoBertagna with it’s traditional stone arched cantina. Each Cantina offered a fantastic individual experience of wine tasting and gastronomy in Lake Garda, not to mention an insight into the art of wine making, overall a day which will last long in the memory. I tasted some fantastic Lugana’ and Garda Classico’s and I ate some excepional salami’s, hams and cheeses, also a fantastic grigliata mista from the BBQ at Fattoria Colombara.

Follow the links above to find out a little more about each of these Cantina’s, and also keep a check on Love Lake Garda wine where you will find a map of Lake Garda cantinas.

I have also decided that the countryside is so beautiful in that area that I need to go and walk it so keep checking the Walking and Hiking in Lake Garda section for more information.

I hope you enjoy the photo’s and I hope that they inspire you to participate in this experience next year.
