What we think

Papillon is our favourite pizza restaurant on the lake. It is at the far end of Salo’, near Il Duomo. The pizza, cooked in a ‘forno a legno’ (traditional wood burning pizza oven), is amazing. They also specialise in fresh fish from the sea or the lake and the pasta is also very good. During the summer it is essential to book early so that you can get a table outside, right on the lake. As the sun dips behind Salo you are perfectly positioned to soak the amazing atmosphere on the gulf whilst eating fantastic food.

Language shouldn’t be a problem as many of the staff speak English, but if you are worried about making the call then you can book on-line here.

Our favourite dish-Luca pizza (proscuitto crudo and cream), Fritto misto, grilled coregone (lake fish)

Mmm Mmm Mmm!! The best Pizzas ever…. especially eaten in the outdoor dining area with the beautiful veiws of the lake. Well worth a visit if you are ever in Salo.

This is one of our favs! Love the mixed grilled fish and fresh salad. We were even here last weekend – March 2014 – and it was full! Love it even better in the summer when you can sit right on the lake front.
